    I was lucky enough to visit Australia almost twenty years ago. So many amazing places. One that comes to mind is Four Mile Beach, Port Douglas – absolutely stunning.

    I’d like to visit Newcastle in NSW. I live near Newcastle in the UK and I am fascinated by how so many of the place names are the same. Many years ago I wrote to The Lord Mayor of newcastle NSW and he sent me a book all about the region!

    I’d love to visit Perth. I have a friend who moved there about 10 years ago after a backpacking hilidayvthere, we keep in touch by email but it would be lovely to visit her there and see why she fell in love with the area.

    I would start by visiting online friends in Tasmania. I would see Melbourne and Sydney on my way to the North East where I have school friends in Queensland. I would then love to have a driving south west adventure to Perth. Of course, I would need 3-6 months to do all this!

    My favourite TV show is Masterchef Australia, which is filmed in Melbourne – I’d love to go there, and an absolute dream would be to be able to be one of the people who get to try the contestants food on one of the big group challenges!

    I would love to see the Great Barrier Reef, it is such a natural treasure with it’s array of marine life in its underwater world, ranging from thousands of different varieties of fish, birds, hundreds of types of birds, seaweed, and turtles. This would be an unforgettable experience.

    Can’t remember where it was but it featured in a travelogue type programme in which Billy Connolly travelled Australia. It was a place of remberance (perhaps a ‘garden’ ???) is all I can remember.

    I’m visiting Australia for the 1st time to get married and plan on visiting as many places as possible including The Ghan train from Darwin down to Adelaide to take in the outback. A perfect location to read The Lost Man I think.

    I would love to drive the Great Ocean Road to see the Twelve Apostles rock stacks. Some of the most astonishing seascapes and natural rock formations, plus they are eroding into the sea, so catch them while I can.

    I want to go to Wagga Wagga which is apparently by no means the richest town in Australia but is where my long lost cousin lives. She contacted us 6 years ago after tracing her family tree. We have met several times in England but she is urging me and my sister to visit. Coincidently I have just been chatting to my friend who is en route home from Sydney at this very moment. Maybe we can go together next year.
