GIVEAWAY – LONDON! Blood Orange by Harriet Tyce

4th August 2019

A copy of BLOOD ORANGE by Harriet Tyce (plus a couple of greetings cards set in the city) is up for grabs!

Blood Orange by Harriet Tyce

Alison has it all. A doting husband, adorable daughter, and a career on the rise – she’s just been given her first murder case to defend. But all is never as it seems…

Just one more night. Then I’ll end it.

Alison drinks too much. She’s neglecting her family. And she’s having an affair with a colleague whose taste for pushing boundaries may be more than she can handle.

I did it. I killed him. I should be locked up.

Alison’s client doesn’t deny that she stabbed her husband – she wants to plead guilty. And yet something about her story is deeply amiss. Saving this woman may be the first step to Alison saving herself.

I’m watching you. I know what you’re doing.

But someone knows Alison’s secrets. Someone who wants to make her pay for what she’s done, and who won’t stop until she’s lost everything….

HOW TO ENTER:

Just tell us what you think of the cover! Would you buy it just from the cover? Does it appeal to you? Do this by midnight (UK time) on Saturday, 17th August and the first name out of the hat will be sent the package. Get cracking! It’s a cracking read and it’s very evocative of London!

I do like the vibrancy of the colours on the cover and the contrast of the white and orange. I have a feeling no this would stand out from other books on the shelves. Only thing I’m not keen on are those testimonials in the top section one is surely enough – if I see multiple comments I get suspicious that the book isn’t really that good.

I would be drawn to look at it for the colour and the drip of blood from the orange is clever. Having read the comments I would like to read.

I really like the cover – it illustrates the title of the book really well and is very striking! The red blood orange contrasts well with the white space. The orange at the top looks like it’s dripping ‘blood’ too!

On seeing the cover, I would be tempted to pick up the book and read the blurb. It definitely appeals and would encourage me to buy the book.

I love the cover. It’s clean, uncluttered, and attracts my eye. It reveals little, but makes me want to know what the book is about.

Hello! When I see the cover I think it looks intriguing but I don’t know if I would read it from that as it does look quite scary!

I do think it’s a striking cover and the blurb from Lisa Jewell is a nice touch. I have this on my TBR. Hope to check it out from the library.

The book cover is very appealing and would certainly entice me to pick it up and read the story description. It’s an unusual cover and certainly hints at the menacing.

The words certainly appeal – not usually taken in by a cover. Also the fact that Lisa Jewell, Clare Mackintosh and Sara Pinborough have endorsed it definitely appeals to me.

I’d certainly pick the book up because of the cover, but it is usually the blurb that helps me decide which books I want to read.

Personally I think the top image looks like a glacé cherry nipple and I always hated that candied fruit on mince pies at Xmas. And since my dad always tells me about getting an orange in his stocking at Christmas I would deduce that the book would be about seasonal fruits and narrated by Santa!

I wouldn’t say the cover appeals on its own but i definitely like the sound of the premise so together with the cover, the blurb and the author I’d love to read this!

I like the cover, and it would encourage me to pick it up to find up more if I spotted it while browsing, but I would never, ever, buy a book solely on the impression formed by the cover

I definitely would buy it just from seeing the cover (although I’d prefer to win it! )
I love the image of the cut orange, tinged a darker shade, redolent of spilled blood!
Even better that it’s set in London, my home town!
