GIVEAWAY! – it’s off to NEW YORK via books and colouring
21st June 2020
This week we are hosting a NEW YORK themed giveaway, hoping to ease the stress and strains – even for a few hours – in Summer 2020. It’s off to NEW YORK via books and colouring!
We have a copy of Riley Sager’s immersive thriller FINAL GIRLS, together with a “Colour New York” colouring book and we are throwing in a set of colouring pencils.
Final Girls:
FIRST THERE WERE THREE
The media calls them the Final Girls – Quincy, Sam, Lisa – the infamous group that no one wants to be part of. The sole survivors of three separate killing sprees, they are linked by their shared trauma.
THEN THERE WERE TWO
But when Lisa dies in mysterious circumstances and Sam shows up unannounced on her doorstep, Quincy must admit that she doesn’t really know anything about the other Final Girls. Can she trust them? Or…
CAN THERE ONLY EVER BE ONE?
All Quincy knows is one thing: she is next.

Hello, when I think of New York I think of glamour, noise and adventures! I think I would like to visit the Guggenheim Art gallery in New York if I went.
I think of all the wonderful sights to see and places to visit. There just wouldn’t be enough time!
I visited New York in February and I already itching to go back. The skyline, the food, 9/11 museum – all absolutely incredible!
Yellow cabs and rain
When I think of New York, I think of Broadway, which is my favorite part of any trip to New York!
The place that most moved me in New York was a trip to Ellis Island, and learning about the lives of emigrants when the city was a land of promise and opportunity (it still is for many!).
I have never been to New York, but I would love to visit and explore it, especially The Metropolitan Museum of Art!
Would love to see the sunrise from Brooklyn Bridge and to take the free ferry to Staten Island
New York Diners are wonderful. It’s like being part of a movie set. I’d encourage everyone to have the breakfast experience.
I love NY, especially the village and Brooklyn.
I love NY and I was supposed to go back there in April. I love Brooklyn and the Village.
I’ve been to New York twice. The first time we did all the tourist things and frankly I found it all a bit overcrowded and overrated. By our second visit, our daughter was living there and able to show us around and we saw lots of more off-the-beaten-track places and really fell in love with the city. Two major events helped to seal our love of the place – our daughter got married while we were there, and we found the best bookshop we’ve ever encountered.
When I think of New York I think of Times Square. I haven’t been but I’d love to visit one day.
I would love to visit Central Park if I went back to NYC.
When I was there in the late 70s, it was too unsafe to visit!
The first night I was in NY I stayed at the ‘Y’ on 42nd St, where there had been a murder just the night before!
I would also love a night at the ‘Met’ to see one of my favourite operas!
I’ve never been, but would love to go one day x
I’ve been to the US but didn’t get to New York – would love to go – I can picture lots of shopping, good food, friendly people, etc.
I spent 3 months after university in New York on a training program in 2001 and it was the start of my battle with depression. I had also just read The Bell Jar in which the character travels to NY from Boston after finishing her education and experiences the start of her descent into depression. So for me, the brilliant Sylvia Plath sums up NY. Sorry to be maudlin!
I’d visit New York again in a heartbeat! There is so much to see and do! From sensational shopping, amazing shows and fantastic food’, I can’t get enough of New York!
New York means great shows and just a great upbeat vibe. I have no idea when we can go again, but I am doing a driving trip, 3.5 hours, south to St. Petersburg, FL. I will be going mid-July.
I think of cheesecake, Times Square and Central Park. I’m lucky enough to have visited and these are small highlights amongst an amazing 3 days
I think of The Em0ire State Building and Breakfast at Tiffanies
I think of the Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra film On the Town! I’ve never been but I would like to visit Manhatten.
