three copies of Shoot the Moon by Bella Cassidy

When the love you miss the most is the one you’ve always had.

Tassie loves many things: her friends, her job, her garden. Even her first boyfriend. But there’s a kind of love she just can’t find.

Until, in losing everything, she sees what she needed most was there all along.

Sometimes it’s not the person you need to forget, but the person you need to forgive.

Shoot the Moon is the sweetest of bittersweet novels, combining two very different love stories. One of which will probably make you cry.

Tassie Morris is everyone’s favourite wedding photographer, famous for her photos of offbeat ceremonies and alternative brides. Yet commitment is proving impossible for Tassie herself, who cannot forget her first love.

When she’s sent to photograph a ceremony on Schiehallion – the Fairy Hill of the Scottish Caledonians – she meets Dan, who might be the one to make her forget her past. That is, until a family crisis begins a chain of events that threaten to destroy not only Tassie’s love life, but her entire career.

Set in a colourful world of extraordinary weddings, Shoot the Moon explores the complexities of different kinds of love: romantic love, mother love, friendship. And, ultimately, the importance of loving yourself.

Depends on the time of year, Lily of the valley or a carnation bouquet.

Always comes back to Venice – the most beautiful place both as a couple and going back on a group cycle trip.

I love sunflowers. They are so joyful and unexpected when you see them at a wedding. I feel as though they are not a ‘serious’ flower, they just radiate fun and energy.

Lily of the valley, it’s such a beautiful flower with a divine fragrance. The location would be Oxwich Bay, Gower as it’s so picturesque and a perfect location.

Carnations as they are easy to care for but I have absolutely no idea if they are wedding fit and if a bride has ever had a carnation bouquet!

The most romantic flowers to me have to be roses. They are so classic and I especially like white ones in bridal flowers.

I love the Lily flower – my wife lost her father before getting married. Life really became difficult for her. But she remembered the last time visiting him in hospital – she bought him flowers as a get well soon gift. With his last breath, the lily flower was sealed in his hand. She ultimately held onto his hand for the last time – the warmth and comfort that the flower gave to he was extraordinary! We have flowers all around our home and of course had them during our wedding – we even told our guests about the significance of the lily flower.

I’d say the rose is the most romantic flower. I connects me and my wife together when we have our times together for meals and parties.

Romantic Place = Paris – I proposed to my wife here #bestdayofmylife and it has so much good vibes.

The most romantic film = The notebook!

Ever since I went to my Best Mate ‘Oriental Wedding’ just before COVID, I became a fan of Lotus Flowers symbolising purity, longevity and honour intermixed with Peonies representing peace, beauty and health. What’s not to like ?

Having been married for 43 years now, I a a bit more of a traditionalist when it comes to flowers.

Also, as I was a florist at the time we married, my boss made my wedding bouquet as part of their wedding gift to me, so I had some pretty extravagant flowers in it – Lily-of-the-Valley, Stephanotis, miniature orchids, freesias and roses.

As our honeymoon was on a budget (a week in a very wet and windy Torquay in April), my husband surprised me on our Silver Wedding Anniversary, by whisking me off to Florida – for a 5* weekend! I never knew a thing about it, the old romantic 🙂

I had Ranunculus in my wedding bouquet and I always spot them in others, a beautiful flower and really stand out. I often think they are overlooked by other flowers. They truly make a stunning display.

I’ve opted not to have a bouquet at my wedding. My favourite wedding flowers are big, bold peonies. Always liked the old idea of putting some herbs and spices in it to banish evil spirits.

Peonies are vibrant, bright and beautiful and their lovely shades of white, pink and red put on a dazzling display for any wedding or civil partnership. They symbolise love, honour and luck and have a lovely scent.
