When Connie leaves behind a cheating husband and heartache in the UK for her aunt’s beach retreat, the last thing she wants is for her life to once again be complicated by men.
Yet when her past follows her to Tanzania, her time to heal is short-lived and a reckless decision shatters her hopes for a fresh start. An unexpected return to the UK reveals a long-hidden family secret that Connie has to deal with before she can decide the direction her life should take.
Getting over a broken heart was never going to be easy. Can Connie put the past to rest and find peace and love in a country far from home? Read our review here

Kenya. Dad worked there as a doctor in the 1970s and speaks so fondly of his time there and the people. He is a terrible dancer and the Kenyan medics named a dance after him – the “Mikey”.

Cape town. Wow!

Chobe national park. My friend grew up around there now lives in the UK though!

Kenya! My great grandparents were missionaries there. My grandmother was born there.
My husband told me how lovely Tanzania is from when he climbed up Killi, so I would love to visit there. But, I have yet to even visit SA, so I have the garden route, vineyards and table top mountain there…. Botswana for wildlife ……Seychelles for flora/fauna….. Madagascar, simply because I have met a lovely lady from there…. Vic falls…. I have a lot to see!!!!
Narrowing this down to one is so difficult! I would love to see the stone churches of Lalibela in Ethiopia.
As a child I lived in Tanzania and Zanzibar was often mentioned as somewhere we as a family would visit. We never did. I have always retained a longing to go there. Reading this book would take me a little closer for a while.
Seal island near Capetown. My son went there to play cricket with his college, it looked amazing
Table Mountain, Cape Town. Not sure I’d be able to hike to the top though!

Kenya
Botswana always sounds fascinating.
I would love to visit Mozambique. To me it looks raw, gorgeous, and somewhat untouched by tourism. Thank you.
I would love to go somewhere that does an animal safari. I always regret not doing it for our honeymoon. Trouble is the terrain would have to be smooth as disabled and bumpy rides would cause more pain.
Egypt
My number one destination in Africa would be Botswana, inspired by Alexander McCall Smith’s No 1 Ladies Detective Agency series! If only I could meet up with Mma Ramotswe!
Then I would go on safari, followed by a beach retreat on Zanzibar!

I would most definitely opt for the luxury Norfolk Hotel in Nairobi because it sounded so plush and gloriously decadent in Kat Gordon’s novel “An Unsuitable Woman”. I could imagine I was wealthy, glamorous and a real socialite then!
