Enter Niagara Escarpment

  • Location: Beamsville, Grimsby (Ontario), Hamilton, Niagara Falls, Ontario, St Catharines
  • Author: Margaret Lindsay Holton

Review Author: Barbara Azzoli

Beginning in mid 18th century North America, the compelling journey of three immigrant men into the 21st century is spellbinding. Set on the shores of Lake Ontario and the Niagara Escarpment the geographical descriptions throughout the story make living off the land a gritty experience for the reader. “Trillium” travels through the maze of sagas for three families replete with romance, heart-wrenching drama and a murder mystery. Within the intricate histories there is a wealth of information about wine making from the planting of a cutting to wine tasting in high society. It is a novel about love, loyalty and betrayal. To refer to it as colorful is an understatement. MLHolton elevates historical fiction to a level of excellence. She does it all with aplomb.
