Short novel set in MANHATTAN
GIVEAWAY of this Summer’s top beach read: “Big Summer” set in Cape Cod
11th July 2021
Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner is this Summer’s top beach read set in CAPE COD
Yes, and you have spotted correctly! We have TEN – yes, TEN – copies to give away to 10 lucky winners! UK entry only.

Six years after the fight that ended their friendship, Daphne Berg is shocked when Drue Cavanaugh walks back into her life, looking as lovely and successful as ever, with a massive favour to ask. Daphne hasn’t spoken one word to Drue in all this time – she doesn’t even hate-follow her ex-best friend on social media – so when Drue asks if she will be her maid of honour at the society wedding of the summer, Daphne is rightfully speechless.
Drue was always the one who had everything – except the ability to hold onto friends. Meanwhile, Daphne’s no longer the same self-effacing sidekick she was back in high school. She’s built a life that she loves, including a growing career as a plus-size Instagram influencer. Letting glamorous, seductive Drue back into her life is risky, but it comes with an invitation to spend a weekend in a waterfront Cape Cod mansion. When Drue begs and pleads and dangles the prospect of cute single guys, Daphne finds herself powerless as ever to resist her friend’s siren song.

My favourite time of the day is getting into bed and reading before I go to sleep!
On the beach at Benodet in Brittany would be an ideal spot but then again there really is no place like home for peaceful reading time uninterrupted by weather, insects, babies crying, traffic noise etc etc etc!
Relaxing in my favourite chair when home alone!

In Elounda, Crete – sat by the sea with a cold beer, some traditional music and without a care in the world 🙂

Well I live by a beach…but it’s a pebbly one (Eastbourne) – I was thinking of the white windswept sand of Varadero on the island of Cuba would do fine!
In my garden – hopefully in sunshine – with a cool glass of wine. No travelling involved – except with my brain!
For me it’s always in bed wrapped up warm with hot tea & cake! Or wine & cake!
I’d love to read Big Summer on Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman. One of my friends moved to the Cayman Islands for work just before the pandemic hit and I’d love to go visit and read this book on the beach while there!

The word “mansions” follows me this summer. I would have to make the same choice as the friend. Yes, I will gladly take part in the ceremony while admiring Cape Cod.
In the garden, in the sun, with a long cold drink
Big Summer: Having been to Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard it would be the latter. Martha’s Vineyard is a world apart from summer 2021. I would love to return and absorb this book and this world. And take nothing for granted ever again.
