A noted climate activist is about to name names at a symposium in Stockholm. CIA agents Joshua Daine and Valerie Rhodes are sent on a simple retrieval mission to pick up classified information. She is kidnapped, he is shot, a setup. Losing the other has unleashed a depth of feelings about their past and their feelings for each other.
Complicating their future is Joshua’s estranged father, whose close friend is the one giving the incendiary speech on Global Climate Change. His speech will put him in the crosshairs of men that will do anything to protect themselves.
A well paced novel across several countries in a race to find who wanted that retrieved information enough to kill. The book also explores the minefields of personal and professional costs in protecting our freedoms.
