Era(s): 1950s and later

As a young woman Nancy made some mistakes. Now her past is coming back to haunt her.

Nancy Miller, once a well-known artist, spends her time quietly in the south of Spain. One day her agent tells her she must write her memoirs before it is too late. But does Nancy really want her secrets to come to light? Secrets she has managed to keep hidden all these years.

Against her better judgement Nancy employs Ana to help her with this difficult task. However, as she begins to relate her life story to the young Spaniard, it soon becomes obvious to Ana that Nancy is not telling her everything.

At first Ana thinks it is because Nancy is forgetful, but as she begins to dig more deeply into the artist’s past, she discovers the real reason for her reluctance. Nancy Miller has a horrifying secret.

But what should Ana do with this new information? Should she include it in the memoirs and risk ruining Nancy’s international reputation? Should she tell the police? Or should she speak to Nancy’s son and tell him what she knows about his mother?

Whatever she does it will have devastating consequences for both Nancy and her family.
