Tunnel Vision

Author(s): Jimmy Thomson

Location(s): Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Genre(s): Crime, Humour

Era(s): Present day

This is the second Danny Clay crime “caper” which takes the ex-Army engineer turned TV writer, and his Vietnamese sidekick Zan, to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) where a former army buddy has become embroiled in a property deal with a mysterious and powerful local politician called Colonel Nhu.
Set in some of the better known as well as less well-travelled parts of the city, Tunnel Vision is a homage to one of the author’s favourite places in the world.
That said, the story is a romp through Vietnam, taking in feisty female cops, returned Australian war veterans and their much younger local wives, sex slavery, the Russian Mafia, corrupt Hollywood TV producers and some actual but little-known aspects of the city’s tourist destinations. Oh, and there’s a homicidal sun-bear, as well.
