‘Who are you and why do you have my boyfriend’s phone?’
‘He left it in my car. You must be the blonde in the red dress? I’m the Lift driver who dropped you two off earlier.’
And with these words, the life of the brunette and t-shirt wearing Maya Maas is turned upside down. Having planned to surprise her boyfriend, she finds herself single and stranded in an unknown city on her birthday.
So when the mystery driver rescues Maya with the suggestion that she cheers herself up at a nearby beach town, she jumps at the chance to get things back on track. She wasn’t expecting a personalised itinerary or the easy companionship that comes from opening up to a stranger via text, let alone the possibility it might grow into something more…

I’d love to visit the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas – one so natural and the other man made
I’d love to go to Alcatraz. Tried years ago but they were fully booked.
I love California, we went to San Francisco and I would really, really recommend going to Muir Woods. Absolutely stunning!
I visited the Golden Gate Park, close to the bridge of the same name and really enjoyed it. There was a carousel roundabout, great views of the bridge and just a feeling of being away from the crowds.
would like to visit all the main tourist spots but also some of the out of the way sights that tourists don’t usually visit

I have never been to California but it would be absolutely amazing to go!
Love San Francisco, from the wharf to China town this is such a diverse city, but you do need deep pockets as anything but cheap but well worth the expense to have a meal on the wharf looking out over the bay to the Golden Gate Bridge. Marina Del Rey just down from Santa Monica has all the fun of the sunshine state, from muscle beach to some great little coffee shops and not a place to stretch your budget too much and just a short ride to the glitz and glam of Santa Monica.
San Francisco – not yet got there!
I don’t know anything about California except it looks like a beautiful and exciting place to visit.
Funny enough, currently watching my fave vloggers visit Disneyland in California and that is where I would like to go!
I would love to visit Yosemite National Park
I haven’t visited many parts of California apart from spending a week in San Franscisco which was a great experience and the end of a two month road trip that took me from East Coast to North, South, Mid West and West Coast. That was 20 years ago and I’d love to go back and see much more of this beautiful state.
santa Monica beach is huge. Don’t miss it
I would love to visit Los Angeles and San Francisco and visit scenery from movies and TV shows.

I’d love to visit San Francisco, see the Golden Gate Bridge, see where fictional detective Monk solved all those crimes xx
My uncle lives just outside of San Francisco and I visited back in 1995. So long ago now but I loved it. I found Alcatraz a scary but interesting place. I even met an ex prisoner there who had written a book. He signed it for me. I went to a baseball game too which I thought I wouldn’t enjoy but I loved it.
There is so much to do and see in California, J would love to go, it seems such an incredible state.
I loved New Orleans, and would recommend the cemetary tours & steam boat ride whilst there! And eat a Po’boy and a Beignet! I’d love to re-visit New York as I only got to see it for a day or so on a work trip!

My parents went on a road trip around California many years ago and they still rave about their time there. I’m yet to visit the Golden State but Los Angeles and San Francisco are on my travel wish list!
I did a tour of the state many years ago and my favourite spot was Monterey, where the sea otters come right into the harbour, totally unconcerned by the people and boats.
I have a friend that lives in Monterey, California and I was just telling her I’d love to come visit for a visit to wine country!
If I visited it would probably be somewhere like New York though Canada appeals more
Yosemite National Park, it’s so on my wish list
Hello, I would like to visit New York City, it just seems so great and vibrant.
I would of course, like to visit some of the more ‘touristy’ areas of the State (well it would be rude not to, wouldn’t it?). However, I have family who emigrated to the State when I was a child and I haven’t seen them for over thirty years now, so a trip to the Valencia and Montrose areas, where they live, to see my aunt and godmother who is now 90, would be amazing!
Sequoia National Park because I love trees especially tall ones – I grew our now giant eucalyptus from seed!
I’ve never been to California so I would need to get a guide book to get ideas of where to visit.
I used to be a big fan of The OC so I’d love to visit Orange County.
When I was 20 I lived in Pasadena for a year and had a great time x
