GIVEAWAY: 3 copies of To Kill a Troubadour – THE DORDOGNE
26th June 2022
We are delighted to offer 3 copies of To Kill a Troubadour by Martin Walker, no15 in the DORDOGNE crime mystery series.
UK only.
It is summer in St Denis, and Bruno is busy organising the annual village concert. He’s hired a local Périgord folk group, Les Troubadours, to perform their latest hit ‘A Song for Catalonia’. But when the song unexpectedly goes viral, the Spanish government, clamping down on the Catalonian bid for independence, bans Les Troubadours from performing it.
The timing couldn’t be worse, and Bruno finds himself under yet more pressure when a specialist sniper’s bullet is found in a wrecked car near Bergerac. The car was reportedly stolen on the Spanish frontier and the Spanish government sends warning that a group of nationalist extremists may be planning an assassination in France. Bruno immediately suspects that Les Troubadours and their audience might be in danger.
Bruno must organise security and ensure that his beloved town and its people are safe – the stakes are high for France’s favourite policeman.

The Occitanie region
Paris for me (although I’ve not been to a lot of places in France) but it has the FIA headquarters and I had my photo taken outside so I was happy
Southern Brittany, especially the area around Bénodet holds a special place in our hearts. We have spent around 3o summer holidays there with our touring caravan. We were able to pitch up then get everywhere we wanted on foot or bike. A beach, marina and salt marsh all within a few minutes walk of the site. Beautiful weather but never unbearably hot like we experienced in other regions further south. Sadly, now in our 70s we feel we are too old to make the long journey so stay much closer to home.
Got to be Paris
The western port of La Rochelle and surrounding Illes de Rie area is amazing
I’ve never been to France but Brittany sounds lovely.
I’ve never been, but would love to go to Provence for the food, markets and lavender.
Got to be Brittany
I love Nice and Cannes – lovely scenery and weather
Love nice (just wish it wasn’t so expensive!)
Paris, the classic cafes with coffee and croissants

Has to be Normandy
Paris
My favourite part of France is the south where its hot.
I’ve only been to Paris but what a vibrant, colourful and beautiful city it is.
Nice is a favourite-a beautiful city with such evocative history but Paris always number one-especially the Left Bank.
Tours
Paris
Antibes
Love the western port of La Rochelle
The Paris Catacombs!
Dordogne
Provence – some great holidays
I love Paris
It has to be Monte Carlo for me where all the rich and famous take their yachts and it is small enough to walk to view all the wonderful buildings etc.
I love the Dordogne, going back for two weeks in August!
St tropez
Really like Provins, just a short train ride from Paris.
I love Normandy with all it’s history. From the Bayeaux Tapestry to the D Day beaches and the history of WWII, to William the conqueror and the cathedrals
I love the dordogne area because I have fond memories of camping there every summer
I have never holidayed in France so do not have a favourite
I would say Provence due to its beauty
bolougne
I love both Old Aquitaine and Nouvelle Aquitaine, such lovely and picturesque villages, and so much history!
Menton but so many other places very high on the list.
I love Provence, because of the interesting and very varied landscape – lavender fields, olive groves and vineyards and of course, the wonderful French Riviera.
Biàrritz (a city on the Bay of Biscay, on the Atlantic coast) 22 miles away from the Spanish Border.
Nice and you should visit the Cathédrale Saint-Nicolas de Nice and the Cours Saleya market is a must
Arcachon
I have only been to Paris, visited the Louvre, browsed at perfume shops, so that is my favourite place.
If it terrible if I say Disneyland Paris? I would love to actually visit Paris though.
I love the French Pyrenees. Wonderful in the winter and even better in the summer.
For me it has to be the idyllic island of Corsica. Steeped in history and beaches and scenery so breathtaking. A beautiful memory for me is back in 2010 when my husband proposed that we renew our wedding vows on an isolated beach as the sun was going down. We have just celebrated our 25th wedding Anniversary April this year 🙂 X
Brittany, specifically Carnac – memories of childhood camping holidays and beach trips. And crepes!
My favourite part of France is Paris.
I have been to quite a few areas of France, but the place I keep returning to is Burgundy

St. Malo has to be my favourite part of France
Provence
Hola
I know lots of people will say Paris, I’m not one of them. One of the very few places I got myself totally lost.
Personally I would pick Lille followed by Le Touquet.
I’ve only been to a sleepy little village where a friend got married so haven’t seen a lot of France but think I would love Paris
I love Paris it’s a beautiful city with so much to see and do
I must admit that my French travels have only ever taken me as far as Paris, which I would love to have spent longer exploring.
If I was lucky enough to win this book, I would definitely need to read book #1 first, so that I could get a handle on the characters and the author style of writing.
In fact the series sounds so good, that I might just do that anyway!
To Kill a Troubadour:
My favourite part of France is Remoullin near the world heritage site of Pont du Garde. It is half way between Nimes and Avignon. Beautiful
My favourite part of France is Nice.
I love Paris x
A small town called Ferney Voltaire near the Swiss border, mainly because my daughter and my gorgeous grandchildren live in a little village close to it. Also for the amazing market, and the views, especially from Voltaire’s chateau, of the Alps in one direction and the Jura in the other. And finally because it has a hot pizza vending machine and that’s a very cool thing to have.
I love the sparkling sea and sand of Southern France
having been and enjoyed myself there a lot, it would be Nice for me (closely followed by La Rochelle)
Love the Parisian Riviera, Deauville is beautiful. Rather ashamed to admit I know very little about Catalonia.
Only been to Paris but would love to go back there
Boulanger because it’s cheap to get to and a visit to the hypermarkets make for a fun day out.
My favourite part of France is Côte d’Azur I love Nice and St Tropez.
