We’ve hand-picked three iconic novels from the Macmillan Collector’s Library to devise this book-ish personality quiz. Read on for more details about each of these twentieth-century classics and then decide which book you most identify with and enter our quiz to be in with a chance of winning a bundle of all three books (UK only)…

The books produced are of an impeccable standard but remain affordable, starting at £9.99 in hardback. Each edition comes complete with gilt edges, cloth bindings, ribbon bookmarks and arts-and-crafts-style endpapers.

    Based on the copious amounts of tea I drink and the last three years of holidays in Cornwall and the Outer Hebrides, it’s definitely No. 3. And such an iconic opening line.

    2. And I love The Greengage Summer. Rumer Godden is ripe for a revival, I think. Fantastic story teller and especially good at capturing the heartbreak of childhood and early adolescence. With humour and some very dark scenes.
