Thriller set in Bangkok and Ko Samet
GIVEAWAY – 5 copies of Strictly Murder by Julie Wassmer – WHITSTABLE
5th September 2021
GIVEAWAY: we are delighted to offer 5 copies of STRICTLY MURDER by Julie Wassmer, no. 8 in the Pearl Nolan murder mystery series (each novel can be read as a standalone). Open UK only.
It really is murder on the dance floor! A new dance school opens in Whitstable run by celebrity tango champions – Tony and Tanya Ballard. Pearl Nolan knows herself to be an ace cook and a sharp private eye but has always left the dancing to her mother, Dolly. But Pearl becomes intrigued by the Ballards when they visit The Whitstable Pearl restaurant, and she realises that dance classes could provide the perfect cover for her clandestine relationship with DCI Mike McGuire…
McGuire is the only man Pearl has ever considered partnering – and not just for tango – but the pair soon find themselves with more than steps to master when death joins them on the dance floor and a brutal killer stalks the school.
Over on Amazon, this is what TripFiction has to say about the series: ‘A wonderful way to explore Whitstable . . . if you love cosy mysteries, then get acquainted with Pearl (and her mum and her cats!) and enjoy a trip to Whitstable through the eyes of this very convincing author’

Just been on a beach would be amazing not been since just before first lockdown 18 months ago. Hearing the sea, seeing sand, watching the boats and dolphins if your lucky. Feeding the birds. If I ever do go again think I’ll appreciate it more now than before COVID.

Walks along the sea
Favourite thing at the seaside was when I was a child.
We’d go to the beach and set up “camp”. We’d play all day – just digging in the sand or running in and out of the sea. Having homemade sandwiches and cake and a jug of tea from the beach cafe.
My favourite thing is to sit on a harbourside seat and and beat the seagulls into eating my fish and chips

I love going kayaking with my boys when the water is nice and calm, many thanks
Oooh it depends on the beach. I love rock pools, especially the ones where each one looks like a tiny underwater garden with its own inhabitants enjoying the scenery, I can watch those for hours. But when it’s a more traditional “day at the seaside” beach, I head straight to the shellfish stall for a pot of cockles and mussels or shrimps.
Lying on the warm sand, listening to the tide and reading a book.
It would have to be fish and chips & a quick paddle!
In any nice warm sea I would be floating & playing around in the waves for hours, but not in British seas! ❄❄

Fish and chips is a must at the seaside
Building sand castles with the little ones x
Burying a sibling in the sand!
Of course I enjoy any of the suggestions you made – mention food and I’m there!
However my real idea of heaven is to watch and more importantly, listen to the waves crashing onto the shoreline.
It’s fine if that is a sand beach, better if it is a pebbly beach and best of all if it is a really rocky coastline, so that the waves can get some serious ‘crashing’ going on!
