20th February 2022
We are delighted to be able to offer an Advance Reader Copy of We Are The Brennans by Tracey Lange (set in NEW YORK STATE) – our Book of the Month (February 2022) – and a tote bag designed by Yehrin Tong for Books Are My Bag. There might even be a little surprise as well!!
We are the Brennans by Tracey Lange:
Some secrets you keep from your family. And some secrets you keep for your family.
When twenty-nine-year-old Sunday Brennan wakes up in a Los Angeles hospital, bruised and battered after a drunk-driving accident she caused, she swallows her pride and goes home to her family in New York. But it’s not easy. She deserted them all – and her high school sweetheart – five years before, with little explanation, and they’ve got questions.
Sunday is determined to rebuild her life back on the East Coast, even if it does mean tiptoeing around resentful brothers and an ex-fiancé. The longer she stays, however, the more she realises they need her just as much as she needs them. When a dangerous man from her past brings her family’s pub business to the brink of financial ruin, the only way to protect them is to upend all of their secrets – secrets that have damaged the family for generations and will threaten everything they know about their lives. In the aftermath, the Brennan family is forced to confront painful mistakes-and ultimately find a way forward, together.

Camping at easter
Hoping to meet with some book buddies for a log weekend in September.
We have returned today from our third holiday of the year! Nothing flashy. We just get away for a few days each time in our campervan. Its like a second home to us but without all the chores and worries of every day life. (Even though we are retired we still have plenty of both) We have walked and talked for miles and our batteries are now recharged!
Lake Garda for Easter – can’t wait!
No plans yet. Maybe we will get a cheeky long weekend away somewhere.
I am still concerned about travelling long distances, so any holiday will be in the UK.

Keep hoping for a nice long cruise to see our friends in New Zealand and Australia but still feel the world is to unsettled to travel for a bit longer, so just a few day trips to York and Shropshire to see friends I think will be our lot.
Having recently split from my partner of 14 years, I really want to try one of those solo holidays, somewhere in Europe. Maybe Poland, not sure yet.
Looking forward to a trip to visit family around Europe when my brother comes home from Australia this summer.
No holidays booked at the moment but looking forward to visiting my boys again in London. Always lots going on and a great city to visit.
I’m hoping to go to a few book festivals this year, plus a trip to London
Hoping to travel to Jersey for my niece’s wedding
My Goddaughter is expecting ‘rainbow’ twins any time now. This will be a difficult birth, so we have everything crossed!

In a couple of months time we are heading to the Outer Hebrides then doing a tour, starting in the south and working our way north through South and North Uist to Lewis and Harris and finally departing from Stornaway.
My next trip is coming up in a few weeks’ time – a family wedding in Wales, a chance to catch up after not seeing them for a couple of years. No plans after that.
No plans for holidays this year unfortunately. However our son is racing motorbikes so lots of days out
I had to cancel a river cruise due to covid but used some of the refund to visit a Warner’s hotel. This was meant to be my sister’s 80th birthday present but unfortunately she became very ill so I took a friend instead. This means I still owe her a holiday and as she is happily now well enough to to travel we intend to visit Studely Castle and live it up!
We are hoping to get a week away in Aldeburgh when Spring arrives and the winds soften!
I am hoping to go on a cruise to Cuba in March
No holiday for me this year as I’m moving from a large cold old house to a small warm modern flat. However my daughters & their families are taking my darling husbands’ ashes to scatter in Malta where he was born….I’ll be there in spirit.
No plans for holidays abroad but I’m going to Llandudno for a theatre break and then Yorkshire to visit my brother.
All our holiday plans are UK based this year – a short break in London, another in the Midlands and a week in the New Forest.
We’re off to Barcelona for 4 nights in April. So looking forward to the vibrant culture, it’s colours, architecture & people and of course, some warmth from the sun.
A week on the gower peninsula in July – my puppy’s first holiday
No plans to go away but, hopefully, I will be able to get out in the garden – with a good book and a glass of wine – that will suit me fine.
No plans yet but will go to visit family in Australia pretty soon I hope x
My boyfriend is planning a weekend to Brighton!! Only our 2nd holiday away together (only been seeing each other for 30 years…)
