Romcom set in CHILE (and Manchester)

24th November 2020

The Lonely Hearts Travel Club: Destination Chile by Katy Colins, romcom set in Chile (and Manchester).

Romcom set in CHILE (and Manchester)

Georgia and Ben are an item and they run the Lonely Hearts Travel Club. It is all going pretty well and then Georgia happens to find a beautiful ring in Ben’s pocket. Could this mean….?

As a couple, they are invited to travel to Chile to take part in a TV adventure contest, with other couples, that should put their travel business (and them!) on the map. They touch down in Santiago and already Georgia is struggling to manage the disabled toilet with the revolving door (you can imagine what happens when she is mid flow!) and it seems Ben has picked up the wrong suitcase because she certainly didn’t pack any sex toys and they are exploding from this newly opened bag!

For the first filmed adventure, they have to pick up clues around the city of Santiago and they certainly have some fishy encounters. The reader joins them in the Mercato Central and there is a quick trip to the famous bar, called Flea – in Spanish La Piojera – which Scope Travel calls “The Most Chilean Bar”, it is real ‘Chilean gold’, established way back in 1896.

Thence off up North to the Atacama desert (where the world’s strongest telescope can be found) and there are hight temperatures and back down south to the mountains.

This is a novel that does exactly what it says on the tin! A romcom with a combination of travel, romance and angst.

Thanks Tina, this one sounds most enjoyable. On the subject of travel, have you been able to meet up with your daughter in Germany this year? Xx

Oh, aren’t you a sweetheart to ask! She came over in August, when we took advice, it was a low-point in infections and we were disinfecting everything. It all went well. Next visit either way? Post vaccine, I guess….. How are you doing??
