I would like a copy of The Painter’s Daughter, by Emily Howes, set in Bath. It will remind me of walking around Bath on the first Christmas Day in the Pandemic It was like stepping back to those times, no cars, lorries, buses, tours, or tourists. Just a few local people keeping their distance around The Abbey, Royal Crescent, Paultney Bridge, the hills, and parks. Bath was so quiet, unbelievable. I was there! A never to be repeated experience hopefully…. sadly. Perhaps hot chocolate, biscuits and a blanket to snuggle down for a good old read. Bliss

    Dear Santa,
I’ve been really good this year.
I’ve love to find a new mobile phone under my Christmas Tree so that I can download some ebooks, a good translation programme and a note-taking app.
    Travel safely in your sleigh!

Books for each of the places I’ve travelled with matching wine to drink while I read.

I love TripFiction – after buying the tickets and booking the hotel – next step Trip Fiction to select the books to take with me.

FIngers crossed for the Advent Calendar.

Hoping to receive a copy of Hannah Kent’s brilliant Burial Rites under my tree this year, having visited the site of her execution on my last visit to beloved Iceland! Although we’re not Icelandic I do love the place so for the last few years we have been following their Jólabókaflóð tradition, so after 6pm on 24th we open presents of books and chocolate, and enjoy reading into Christmas!
