Spicy romance novel set in the world of tennis – mainly in MIAMI and Wimbledon

22nd April 2024

Love Game by Emma Rae, romance novel set in the world of tennis – mainly Miami and Wimbledon.

Romance novel set in the world of tennis

Ace tennis player – ranked in the top 50 – Nicky Salco is in town for Wimbledon and he needs a chef to cook his meals, especially when he rises at 2 am, given he metabolises food much more quickly than average mortals and needs to eat at that time.

Elle is the perfect choice and her agency sends her over for the three week stint. She has to fit in with the household, which is fully geared towards Nicky’s welfare, supporting his pitch at winning the Wimbledon tournament. Mackenzie is his live-in fiancée, she and Nicky are childhood sweethearts and her parents have bankrolled his career. Meet Rag and Tag (no Bobtail – but if you know, you know!), his training team, helping to fine tune his skills.

Romance novel set in the world of tennisAs they chat during their early morning encounters, there is a distinct attraction but, of course, cold and calculating Mackenzie is hovering in the wings. She boots everyone out of the house on a Sunday, so that she and he can have ‘together’ time. Nicky doesn’t even come close to winning the tournament and Elle is invited to join the party back in Miami (his training base), where she will continue her duties alongside the regular chef, who doesn’t tour because of family commitments.

Despite some spicy encounters, Elle cannot work out whether Nicky is a player (no pun intended) and lothario or a genuinely love struck man, so she looks elsewhere and finds all-round good egg, Oliver and starts to hang out with him.

What will Nicky do? As his marriage to Mackenzie starts to loom and his tennis skills continue to elude him, as he tours the Grand Slams, what decisions will he make about his future; and will they involve Mackenzie or will they involve Elle.

An engaging and nicely written romp that brings the world of tennis to life, with the added pizzazz of romance and food. And Miami gets a good look-in too.
