Christmas romcom set in MANHATTAN
13th October 2025
Christmas on Fifth Avenue by by Julie Caplin, romcom set in Manhattan.

Welcome to Business Class. Evie Green is waiting for her flight to New York in the business lounge. She will be staying at the Plaza for a three week stint, and will be documenting her stay at the hotel as well as her experiences in the city.
She happens to catch the eye of handsome Noah Sanderson, who is also in the lounge. Noah is a professional footballer, playing for Fulham, who fouled another player, who in turn sustained a bad injury that will curtail his career. Noah is now suspended and taking time out whilst his future is being decided. He is remorseful about the tackle but must suck up the opprobrium that he faces from all quarters.
The two have been allocated adjacent seats on the flight and as the plane finally comes into land, they realise they have history. They had a recent, rather public spat on Social Media and neither of them has come out well from their rather spiky encounter. The early flirting on the flight over scones and champagne gives way to a prickly denouement and they both set off on their separate ways into the city.
But, oops, as fate would have it, they both seem to be staying at the plush Plaza Hotel for the holiday period and they have even been allocated rooms next to each other. Evie tries to make the best of it, Noah, however,, decides to be curmudgeonly about being in Evie’s proximity. However, neither can deny the frisson between them that continues to dog their encounters.
For the reader, a delightful Christmassy tour of the city ensues, whether it is jogging around Central Park or visits to Bloomingdales, The Holiday Train Show in the Botanical Gardens or climbing up The Edge. There is even a peek into the Royal Suite at the Plaza.
A delightfully evocative romp through the festive city in the company of these two young people.
