Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards Shortlist 2020 announced!

10th December 2019

“…a sensational line up of immensely talented writers across the full spectrum of the travel writing genre” (says Vivien Godfrey,  Chairman and CEO of Stanfords of this year’s shortlists)

Now in its fifth year, the prestigious Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards (ESTWA) exists to champion the very best travel writing in the world.  The nominations include both multi-award winning titles and debut authors with books that will both stimulate thought and inspire travel, while bringing lesser-known parts of the world sharply into focus.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that once again TripFiction’s Tina will be on the judging panel for The Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards (Fiction, With a Sense of Place).

Drumroll please… the shortlist was revealed on 10.12.19:

The Pine Islands, Marion Poschmann, translated by Jen Calleja (Serpent’s Tail) – Japan
Snegurochka, Judith Heneghan (Salt) – Kiev
The Parisian, Isabella Hammad (Jonathan Cape, Vintage Publishing) – Palestine / France
Love in No Man’s Land, Duo Ji Zhuo Ga (Head of Zeus) – Tibet
Bangkok Wakes To Rain, Pitchaya Sudbanthad (Hodder & Stoughton, Sceptre) – Bangkok
Little Faith, Nickolas Butler (Faber & Faber) – Wisconsin

The winners in all categories will be announced on 26th February 2020.
